EVENT: Yoga with Annie Freeman
Zen out in Al’s Bar? The former punk club – home of “Tip or Die” and where musicians ranging from Beck to Bimbo’s Toolshed played – is now a peaceful oasis/performance space where Annie Freeman can help fix your body after your late-night Saturday stage dives elsewhere in the city. First week free for new students. Weeknight classes only.

DINNER: Vegan Valentine’s Day in Little Tokyo
Chef Jun Matoshiro offers a vegan prix fixe menu for your romantic evening. For $88 per couple, enjoy oven-roasted turnip steak with crispy crumbled tempeh, carmelized onion soup, fillet “sole” meuniere with white mushroom sauce, and red velvet cake with rose vanilla ice cream. EVENT: Arts District Neighborhood Watch Walk
The longest-running of its kind in the city, meet your neighbors and get some exercise while ensuring our community’s safety. Founded by Joel Bloom, the weekly event has been kept alive for the past five years by local photographer Scot Ezzell.

EVENT: Electric Jesus Author Reading & Chakra Activation
Admission: $10 advance / $15 door
Admission + Signed Book: $20 advance / $25 door
This event includes musical performances by Miranda Rondeau and Dylan Byrne, a chakra activation to get energies flowing, an author reading of Electric Jesus by Jonathan Talat Phillips, and a community discussion on the Evolver Social Movement and rising consciousness culture flowering across the planet.

EXHIBITION: Go Figure by Ramiro Diaz-Granados
Don’t miss this neighborhood exhibition before it closes on 2/26. Seeking to shift the role of the figure from a metaphorical device to a subliminal one, architect Diaz-Granados’ Go Figure promotes simultaneity in the evolution of the delineated figure by distributing cartoon and visceral features across a 3-dimensional, spine-based form. Open to the public weekdays free of charge.

EXHIBIT OPENING: Ansel Adams – Los Angeles
Rarely seen and some never-before-exhibited photographs by this famous photographer that reveal the lost landscape and lifestyle of a prewar Los Angeles. Exhibition open through 3/17 during Wednesday through Saturday, 12-6 PM. Presented in association with EVFA and the cooperation of the Los Angeles Public Library Photo Collection.
