Here’s where I’ll be this week in and beyond dtla/AD … Support local businesses and residents of the Arts District in Downtown Los Angeles who work and play in all parts of the Southland. MEET ME THERE!
NOTE: For those Arts District Bike-Walk Social Club members and others who have been wanting to attend our fun #RADDsocial events, the next one RETURNS on WED 9/11 @ 6:30 PM – SAVE THE DATE. Due to my fall schedule commitments, the bicycling portion may switch to another night at an earlier time (to accommodate the sunset time changes). Details to follow in early September. TUE 8/27 @ 4:30 PM
APPEAL HEARING: Bar Fight?
City Hall @ 200 N. Main St., Rm. 1070, Los Angeles 90012
While this isn’t a free fun event like I normally promote, today’s hearing at City Hall promises to be interesting; heck, even downright entertaining depending on how you feel about it. Regardless of your pro-or-con position on the proposed Cedd Moses venue in the Arts District, when an event features a cast of characters that includes legendary late-night TV electronics pitchman and local developer Crazy Gideon, you gotta go (and speak your mind or forever hold your peace). Last chance … be there or be square.

Every August, the Los Angeles City Birthday Celebration commemorates the anniversary of the founding of the City of Angels in 1781. This bike ride is a FIRST-TIME event — and some Arts District residents are planning to participate! It begins with the annual Los Pobladores historic re-enactment with cyclists joining walkers for a nine-mile trek from San Gabriel Mission to El Pueblo de Los Angeles (now known as Olvera Street) in Downtown Los Angeles.
