Interested in learning what is planned for the development at 950 E. 3rd Street? Come to Eat.Drink.Americano at 923 E. 3rd St. on Monday, July 28 at 6:30 p.m. to see the latest design and hear a presentation by developer Dilip K. Bhavnani of Legendary Development, LLC and his partners from Associated Estates.

The latest design was previously presented during a 15-minute presentation to members of the Los Angeles River Artist & Business Association (LARABA) during their monthly board meeting on January 6, 2014 – a previous design was shown during a 15-minute presentation by the developer to this same group during their meeting on May 6, 2013.

The first design by the developer was presented to LARABA and the Historic Cultural Neighborhood Council (HCNC) after his earlier participation, along with nearly 100 others, during an invitation-only event on March 24, 2012. Produced by LARABA, HCNC, and LADADspace, Uncommon Ground is an ongoing series of community planning workshops designed to bring together Arts District stakeholders, including property owners, developers, residents, representatives of arts organizations, local business owners, and employees to develop strategies to help guide the evolution of the neighborhood. Three have been held to date: Uncommon Ground I on March 23, 2003Uncommon Ground II on July 22, 2006 (led by SCI-Arc with a wrap-up by Ed Fuentes), and Uncommon Ground III on March 24, 2012. Uncommon Ground IV is currently in the process of being organized for Fall 2014.
